## Question

Read the following passage carefully and make notes and write a summary of it.
Is classical music any way related to popular music? That is a controversial question. [passage of about 300 words comparing classical and popular music, with Indian pop and film-song remixes] ... These remixes have become very popular among the younger generation; they give the old melodies new life and vigour. The purists among the older generation however maintain that the beauty of the song is lost!

## Short answer

The link between classical and popular music is debated. Popular music often borrows classical melodies, and remixed old songs gain popularity among the young, who see them as rejuvenated. Purists, however, argue that remixing destroys the original beauty.
