Suppose you are doing a project on view tower building construction. Write a report about the progress of the work you have completed so far.

## Short answer

A memo reports construction of the Sarangkot View Tower. Raft foundation is complete, columns cast to 12 m, and Rs. 38 lakhs spent out of Rs. 95 lakhs. Work is 42 percent complete against a 45 percent plan, with completion expected on time.

```text
                        MEMORANDUM
To      : Project Manager, Pokhara Tourism Development
Committee
From    : Er. Santosh Gurung, Site Engineer
Date    : 20 March 2027
Subject : Progress report on the construction of the
Sarangkot View Tower (up to 15 March 2027)
```

#### Introduction

The 30 m high view tower with a 4 m x 4 m platform is being built at Sarangkot, Pokhara, to give a view of the Annapurna range. Work started on 1 January 2027 and is scheduled to be completed in 6 months, by the end of June. This report describes the work done so far.

#### Work completed

1. The site was cleared, and a temporary access road, a store and a water supply were built.
2. Soil testing and the structural design were completed and approved by the committee.
3. The raft foundation of the tower was concreted (100 percent).
4. The columns have been cast up to 12 m (40 percent of the height).
5. The staircase and the steel platform are being fabricated in the workshop.
6. The cost incurred so far is Rs. 38 lakhs out of the budget of Rs. 95 lakhs.

#### Problems faced

- Strong winds at the top of the hill made the scaffolding work difficult.
- Water has to be carried from a distance.
- Rain disturbed concrete casting for five days.

#### Work planned for the next period

1. Complete the columns up to the full height by 15 April.
2. Install the staircase and the platform in May.
3. Complete the railings, painting, lighting and lightning protection in June.
4. Carry out the final test and hand over the tower by 30 June.

#### Conclusion

The work is 42 percent complete against the plan of 45 percent. With improved scaffolding and extra shifts, the tower will be completed on time.
