                  MINUTES OF THE MEETING

Date : 6 September 2026
Time : 3:00 p.m.
Venue: Community hall, Teku

Present:
  1. Mr. Surya Shrestha, Chairperson
  2. Ms. Laxmi Tamrakar, Vice-chair
  3. Mr. Ramesh Nakarmi, Treasurer
  4. Representatives of three ward offices (3)
  5. Local youth club members (4)
  6. Ms. Kamala Dhakal, Secretary

Agenda 1: Present condition of the river
  Discussion: Members reported waste dumping, sewage and
  plastic along the Bagmati.
  Decision  : A survey of 10 major pollution points will
  be carried out in one month.

Agenda 2: Clean-up campaign
  Discussion: The number of volunteers and the equipment
  needed were discussed.
  Decision  : A clean-up will be held every Saturday
  morning from 7 a.m. with youth clubs and schools.

Agenda 3: Public awareness
  Discussion: Ways to teach people not to dump waste were
  discussed.
  Decision  : Posters, radio messages and school
  programmes to be organised.

Agenda 4: Cooperation with authorities
  Discussion: The need for sewage treatment and legal
  action was discussed.
  Decision  : A memorandum will be given to the Mayor and
  the Ministry of Urban Development.

The meeting ended at 4:30 p.m. with thanks to all. The
next meeting will be held on 4 October 2026.
